Brothers and Sisters, I am very proud of all of you for standing together throughout this historic FLSA case. I am proud that the Union was able to win the $55 million settlement with IHS, which shows the continued value and necessity of unions. There is simply no way that any individual worker could have achieved such a victory on his/her own. Indeed, without such a joint effort, many of the dedicated and committed public employees who will benefit from this agreement might not even have known that they were entitled to overtime pay that they did not receive. The Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA) stood by you in this fight, and now that we have won, we will work with you to make this settlement process as smooth and efficient as possible.
